Evening Prayer

It's Evening, Jesus
I walk toward you in the light of your Word
I sit at your feet to ask you to speak to me
I wait on you as the earth waits on rain.

I know that by the promise of your presence
the Holy Spirit will attend to my preaching tomorrow
I do not want to go into the pulpit without You
I give you my body, my mind, my mouth, my lips, my voice
I yield tonight every part of me
For You and the proclamation of Your word.
Holy God.
