Evening Prayer

It's Evening, Jesus
Before I sleep, I thank you for those young men and women
Who serve tonight in a dangerous land
And in dark, terror-filled parts of the world
In order that I might lie down under a blanket of freedom.

I thank you for our Commander-in-Chief, President Bush
I thank you for his resolve to give my children a world that is safe
from the evil lurking in the middle east.

Give to our President tonight,
Rest and respite from the burden of war

Grant to us the missionaries of truth
to prevail in a lost world with the message of your Son, Jesus
our Prince of Peace.

Amen
