Burning

They asked each other,

"Were not our hearts burning within us

while he talked with us on the road

It's Evening, Jesus
There was a burning here tonight.
You burned in the teacher
You burned in the student
You burned in the text
You burned in the heart
You burned in the singing
You burned in the prayer
You burned in the insight
You burned in the confession
You burned in the laughter
You burned in the smile

How hot, Lord Jesus, is your burning
How deep is your touch.

Did not our hearts burn within us tonight?
