Name Calling

It's Evening, Jesus

Have I had a ministry of good works today
To any like her?
She did not come to you for worship
You went to her.
She did not first repent of her sin
You first loved her, in her state of ruin.
She was not making an effort to improve her spiritual life.
Yet, your ministry of good works was lavished on her.
You intervened on her behalf.
They called her names,
And the ugly names were true.
They quoted scripture
And they were right.
The law said.
Moses said.
But you, Lord, said simply:
"Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone."
Have I loved like you, today, Jesus?
