Now

Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
even as I am fully known:
I Cor. 13:12

It's Morning, Jesus
Today I consent to live in the mystery of this hour
the unfolding of your will in this day.
Grant me the humility to accept your overtures to my life
in the serendipity of the stranger
the surprise of the tragic
the hallelujah of the ordinary.
Forgive me my former pride
when I lived as one in control and controlling
when I watched as one who judged all things wrong
that did not go my way
when I planned the work and worked the plan
and called all else the devil.
Now I know that I know only in part.
